Job Summary
Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas while advising customers on home furnishings quality, style, and value. Verify prices, calculate discounts, and ensure accurate sales order documentation. Set up advertising displays, stock shelves and counters, and arrange merchandise to promote sales. Handle in-person and telephone inquiries, resolve delivery complaints for damaged items, and make telemarketing prospecting calls using CRM systems. Load pick-ups, obtain customer signatures, and set delivery times. Clean assigned sales areas, process documentation, and enter customer service issues into PQA. Adhere to display standards, store policies, and the S.W.I.N.G. program while promoting H.O.M.E. values. Requires high school diploma, six months retail experience, and moderate physical ability for lifting and balancing.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
- ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments
- ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or descriptive data and information
- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- ability to lift, carry, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-50 pounds)
- ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals
- ability to communicate orally
- Must be available for weekend shifts
