Job Summary
Maintain established weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas by advising customers on home furnishings quality, style, and value. Verify prices, calculate discounts, and process sales orders while accurately tagging merchandise and setting up advertising displays. Stock shelves, arrange floor displays, and load pick-ups with customer signatures, resolving complaints regarding damaged or incorrect items. Conduct telemarketing prospecting calls, handle inquiries in person or by phone, and update CRM records and customer service issues. Clean assigned sales areas, assist with credit applications, and compose thank-you notes to maintain store standards and promote the S.W.I.N.G. program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
- ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments
- ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or descriptive data and information
- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort
- ability to climb and balance
- ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
