Job Summary
Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas by advising customers on home furnishings quality, style, and value while resolving delivery complaints for damaged or incorrect items. Verify prices, calculate discounts, and ensure accurate sales write-ups and order documentation. Set up advertising displays, stock shelves and counters, and arrange merchandise to promote sales. Handle customer inquiries in person or via telephone, make telemarketing prospecting calls, and update CRM records. Compose thank-you notes, process credit applications, and document pickup or delivery times. Clean and maintain assigned sales areas, adhere to display and customer service standards, and actively engage customers with the S.W.I.N.G. program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
- ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments
- ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or descriptive data and information
- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort
- ability to climb and balance
- ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials of moderate weight (12-50 pounds)
- ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals
