Job Summary

Sales Manager leads and manages a team of Account Executives and Territory Sales Representatives to meet revenue and margin goals for their assigned product category within the designated region. Responsible for directing, administering, and coordinating all sales functions to ensure maximum sales volume and profitability, while spending heavy time in the field coaching the team, developing key customer relationships, and executing the annual sales strategy. Requires recruiting/hiring, training, performance management, setting sales objectives, and maintaining a strong pipeline with accurate forecasting. Strong emphasis on leadership, customer service, communication, problem solving, negotiation, and building materials knowledge. 70% travel in the field; office and customer-site work environment; Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of sales leadership experience required; ability to travel up to 70% of the time; proficient in building relationships, pricing strategies, and strategic planning.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant sales leadership roles and industry experience
  • Experience in leading teams, including coaching staff and performance reviews
  • Ability to travel throughout the sales region up to 70% of the time
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of building materials and product categories
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans and promotions
  • Ability to manage budgets, pricing strategies, and profitability
  • Commitment to safety and operating in accordance with company policies
