Job Summary
Sales Manager - Proactive manages assigned hotel accounts in the designated sales territory to drive sales across all business segments, facilitates group opportunities upon request, develops account strategies and contracts, and proactively communicates with key stakeholders to optimize account productivity and revenue. Requires 5+ years of hotel sales experience, strong account management and negotiation skills, knowledge of group, extended stay and transient business, and familiarity with Marriott lodging products and revenue-management concepts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of sales experience with a reputed international hotel chain
- Experience in handling top producing accounts and complex group and catering business opportunities
- Experience in handling the travel and trade portfolio
- Excellent selling skills and understanding of sales processes; ability to upsell products and services
- Strong customer development and relationship management skills
- Knowledge of group, extended stay and transient business
- Knowledge of all Marriott lodging products, culture and brand strategies
- Knowledge of contractual agreements and legal implications
- Ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies for individual accounts
- Knowledge of operations
- Knowledge of need time strategy as developed by revenue management
- Understanding of revenue management functions and account profitability
- Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
