Job Summary
Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for guest room revenue and budgeted costs while negotiating with supervision on individual groups. Handle inquiry calls promptly, compile prospective client lists, and make regular in-person sales calls to potential clients. Entertain clients on site, utilize account reports during visits, and monitor pricing at competitive facilities to ensure the hotel remains competitive. Complete coordination of Sales group functions, including preparation of detailed Sales Contracts and Group Resumes, and follow up on booked groups to ensure maximum occupancy. Solicit repeat business, participate in the RFP process, and maintain third-party group booking sites. Assist with digital marketing and social media campaigns to promote the hotel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associates degree
- Sales experience in hospitality or in a related field
- Professionally well connected in local market
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Highly developed verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to influence others, negotiate, provide friendly service and possess professional selling skills
- Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization and presentation skills
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate with others effectively using the English language
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English
- Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries, and reports in English
- Ability to speak effectively in English before groups such as customers or employees
- Ability to read and interpret business records and statistical reports in English
- Some travel may be required to meet with prospective and current clients
