Job Summary
Sales Manager for Automotive Metals Stamping focused on Japanese OEMs (Toyota, Subaru, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai/Kia) based in Troy, MI with 20-25% travel across the U.S. Lead account management and strategic account planning to maximize future business. Serve as liaison among customers and internal teams (Production, Purchasing, Engineering, QA, Accounting). Regular customer meetings to address issues, engineering changes, quality concerns, and potential new business. Manage visits, required reports and documentation, track delivery deadlines, and support launches. Drive profitability by reviewing quotes and cost estimates, negotiating with customers, and coordinating cost-reduction efforts. Requires five years in automotive/manufacturing, direct experience selling to Japanese OEMs, strong sales/negotiation skills, metals stamping technical knowledge, and TS 16949 familiarity; strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years job related experience in automotive/manufacturing industry, specifically in the metal stamping industry
- Recent strong (within 5 years) experience working in a sales or account executive capacity focusing on Japanese OEM's directly (e.g., Toyota, Honda, Nissan)
- Effective, creative, and innovative sales and negotiating techniques
- Basic technical expertise in metals stamping environment
- General knowledge of TS 16949 requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to use problem solving and decision making skills when faced with various customer concerns/issues
