Job Summary
As a Sales Manager, you will drive group revenue in niche hotel markets by proactively sourcing and securing group business, tailoring proposals to client needs, and coordinating with hotel teams to ensure successful events. You’ll prospect for new business, respond to RFPs and inquiries, negotiate and execute group contracts, and ensure clear communication of client expectations with the hotel operations team. You will report to the Director of Sales and focus on SMERF group growth & BT, with growth opportunities into larger markets and higher sales roles within the organization. Essential duties include outbound prospecting (cold calling/outreach), managing pipelines, forecasting, and negotiating from initial contact through contract execution. Key skills include hunter mindset, consultative selling, negotiation, closing, organization, and relationship-driven communication. The role may require varied scheduling including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Eligible to work in the United States; education or literacy to identify product labels and communicate with guests is required. The position is full-time with benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for advancement within HVMG.
Required Qualifications
- Proven success in hotel or hospitality sales, ideally with group sales experience
- A strong hunter mindset with track of record of generating new business
- Confidence in outbound prospecting, including cold calling and outreach
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills
- Excellent organization, pipeline management, and forecasting abilities
- Clear, confident communication skill and a relationship-driven approach
- Self-motivated and the ability to perform an independent, goal-driven environment
- College degree or at least two years of hotel experience
- Previous experience in a similar or related sales role
- Previous experience in a similar or related position
- Special certifications encouraged
