Sales Manager

Job Summary
Drive sales and marketing programs to maximize revenue by selling rooms, catering, and banquet facilities through direct client contact and cold calling. Establish and cultivate client relationships while attending trade shows, industry mixers, and site tours to generate new business and exceed weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals. Manage accounts using HyattConnect and Delphi, prepare proposals, and conduct site inspections to ensure consistent guest service and operational standards. Represent the hotel at local events and coordinate with department managers to deliver comprehensive solutions for current and potential clients. Maintain accurate records, monitor billing, and assist accounting with delinquent accounts while adhering to Scholar Hotel Management standards and scheduling requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meets client needs and resolve complaints
- Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections
- Detail oriented
- Have knowledge of MS Word and Excel
- Have effective verbal and written communications skills
- Be sales and customer service oriented
- Present a professional appearance and dress
- Be a team player
- 4 year College Degree
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum operation of the property
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rates, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Past hotel sales experience a plus but not required
