Job Summary
Manage and direct the daily sales activities of associates to meet profit goals while leading store operations, including opening, closing, and inventory management. Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise a team of sales associates, conducting performance reviews and coaching to foster high performance and low turnover. Serve as a role model for Ashley's Core and Growth Values, optimizing visual presentation and assortment to win business in the local market. Provide full leadership over the store during the Store Manager's absence. Track customer feedback to identify improvement areas and empower the team to resolve issues with empathy.
Required Qualifications
- Expert in both selling and the product being sold
- Ability to recruit, onboard, train, supervise, and develop a team of sales associates
- Ability to conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities
- Ability to lead and direct the daily activities of store sales associates to meet Sales and Profit Goals
- Ability to develop selling system/ standards aligned to company strategy
- Ability to understand and facilitate promotional offers/ events and prepare the store team to maximize the results of every event
- Ability to conduct daily sales role playing and product education for all sales associates
- Ability to focus on development of critical strategic categories and offers - specifically bedding, product protection and financing
- Ability to sell consistently to every guest and align selling strategy with company standards
- Ability to use of analytics/ insights to build sales associates selling development plans
- Ability to provide relevant insights on offers, assortment and selling process/ standards, etc. to ensure success is expanded
- Ability to ensure standards are being followed by every associate in every part of the store
- Ability to develop P&L to support lever pulling/ strategic/ operational decisions
- Ability to develop other store operational areas (e.g. inventory management, warehouse ops, other ops)
- Ability to track and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Ability to lead customer engagement/ full customer lifecycle management
- Ability to act as a role model of Ashley's Core & Growth Values
- Ability to demonstrate the Company's Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions
- Ability to provide full leadership over the store at any point in the absence of the Store Manager
- Ability to supervise, train, and develop retail sales associates in the implementation of the Company's sales approach
- Ability to perform store operations functions such as managing and directing the opening and closing of the store
- Ability to maintain compliance with the Company's policies and operating procedures
- Ability to maintain a strategic view of store talent needs
- Ability to recruit and develop sales staff
