Job Summary
Front-line sales and technical-support role focused on commercial customers in horticulture, delivering plant-order support, product knowledge, and CRM-driven sales opportunities within an assigned region. Responsibilities include assisting customers through the sales process, providing on-site and remote technical product support, guiding variety selection and post-plant care, developing new accounts, supporting licensees, feeding market intelligence to management, maintaining accurate CRM records, and representing the company at regional meetings and tradeshow events. The role involves coordinating with regional and global teams, traveling to offices, farms, and nurseries, and planning customer visits while upholding company values and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Crop Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 3 to 7+ years of related sales, technical and customer service in an agricultural business
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Strong understanding of agronomic topics such as soil & water chemistry, plant nutrition, irrigation, fertigation, and crop management
- Proven track record of building professional relationships with customers and colleagues
- High degree of independent professional judgment in problem solving, researching solutions, and decision making
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly
- Proficiency with MS Office products
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned region
