Job Summary
Review construction plans and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates for roadway projects involving temporary traffic control and work zone safety. Prepare and submit bids for ADOT, county, municipal, and private construction projects while coordinating with vendors, trade partners, and branch managers. Attend pre-bid meetings to clarify project requirements and track submitted bids to maintain contractor relationships and gather market feedback. Lead the full estimating process from plan review through bid submission, applying critical thinking to identify scope risks and develop competitive bid strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & working with numbers.
- Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking when reviewing plans and specifications, identifying scope risks, and developing competitive bid strategies.
- Road construction operations or estimating experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and contractors.
