Job Summary
Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities for bulk material handling conveyor systems while developing technical solutions and building relationships with key decision-makers. Analyze customer requirements to recommend appropriate system solutions, review specifications and drawings for compliance, and collaborate with engineering teams to develop customized quotations. Prepare detailed cost estimates, technical proposals, and bids, then support contract negotiations and closing activities. Coordinate with project management and operations teams during execution to ensure customer expectations are met. Achieve sales targets through a combination of office, remote, and field-based work, including 25–50% travel for site assessments and industry events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–7+ years of experience in sales or application engineering within bulk material handling, conveyor systems, or heavy industrial equipment
- Strong understanding of conveyor types (belt, screw, drag, bucket elevators, etc.) and material handling principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software
- Experience with conveyor system design tools and layout software (e.g., AutoCAD)
- Knowledge of industries such as mining, aggregates, cement, or power generation
- Familiarity with standards such as CEMA, ISO, or ANSI
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Travel required (typically 25–50%) for client visits, site assessments, and industry events
