Sales Engineer

Job Summary
Support sales in meeting revenue and growth targets by leading business planning at major accounts and engaging customers through planned technical interactions and on-site support. Prepare and coordinate testing and drawing services while compiling operational data to recommend performance standards for new and existing products. Proactively support internal cost savings efforts by identifying viable opportunities and participating in customer Value Analysis events. Obtain and communicate technical information regarding manufacturing techniques, materials, and process advantages. Achieve annual new revenue targets for OEM and tier customers while advancing technical capability through industry participation and internal knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or materials science engineering
- 2+ years of experience developing fastening solutions or solving critical application issues in the manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in manufacturing externally and/or internally threaded fasteners or stamped metal fastening elements
- Experience with Fastener testing concepts and procedures
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering field
- Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word
- Possess a customer focused attitude
- Possess strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to organize resources and establish priorities
- Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare comprehensive reports
- Ability to effectively present information to internal and external customers
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines
- Must be self-directed and possess a high level of personal organization and drive
- Possess excellent communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal
- Interact well with employees at all levels within the organization and be able to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Willingness and ability to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements
- Occasional interstate and rare international may be required
- Some out-of-state travel is required from time to time, but this is generally limited to once per quarter and overnight
- Employees are required to use appropriate safety equipment to prevent injury to self or others
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit, bend, stretch, twist, stand, move about and lift to 40 lbs
