Job Summary
Sales Engineer (Germany): acts as a Technical Sales Lead in the pre-sales process for Proofpoint’s cybersecurity portfolio, partnering with Account Managers to design and champion People-Centric Security solutions across the Proofpoint portfolio. Responsibilities include delivering onsite product demonstrations, conducting threat assessments, trainings (lunch-n-learns), and production evaluations; presenting to technical staff and C-suite executives; developing targeted account strategies, and contributing customer insights to Product Management and Engineering. Must become an expert in Email Security, APT protection, DLP, and the broader threat landscape, and be able to articulate solutions across email, cloud, and collaboration tools.
Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience in a customer facing role
- Sales/Systems Engineer or Technical Account Manager or Security Engineer background
- Enterprise cybersecurity experience with large (Enterprise) clients
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable presenting to technical staff and C-suite
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly
- Exposure to Enterprise email solutions (Exchange, G-Suite, O365) or similar
- Knowledge of SMTP email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SMTP
- Fluency in English; local regional language is essential
