Job Summary
Develop and execute strategic plans to increase average daily rate, occupancy, and market share while maximizing revenue and controlling expenses. Proactively build pipelines for key dates and soft periods, oversee the sales function including proposals and contracts, and manage group bookings to ensure seamless on-property experiences. Maintain active relationships with clients, meeting planners, and industry organizations through networking, site visits, and trade shows. Conduct site inspections, coordinate with the revenue and pricing team, and represent the hotel at functions outside typical office hours to drive profitability and guest satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree
- Previous supervisory experience
- Progressive experience in the hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or service industry
- Experience in Rooms and Food & Beverage departments
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Highly developed verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to influence others, negotiate, provide friendly service and possess professional selling skills
- Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization and presentation skills
- Ability to stand or remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time)
- Ability to type on and operate computers and other office machinery or devices, do 10-key operation and data entry, dial a telephone, manually manipulate objects, handles, tools, and/or controls
- Ability to inspect and visually observe details at close range (within a few feet) and from long range
- Ability to frequently walk around the property to give tours of the building
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate with others effectively using the English language
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals
- Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries, and reports in English using prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style
- Ability to speak effectively in English before groups such as customers or employees
- Ability to read and interpret business records and statistical reports in English
- Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Must have attention to detail, meet deadlines and demonstrate strong organization and presentation skills
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily
- Must be able to attend any meetings and any other functions required by the hotel or management, even outside typical office hours
- Must be able to carry out the MCR standard to have a clean, spotless, well-organized and safe hotel at all times
- Must be able to receive great guest satisfaction scores
