Job Summary
Develop and execute strategic plans to increase average daily rate and occupancy growth while proactively building pipelines for key dates and soft periods. Oversee the sales and events department, managing client relationships with third-party planners and securing new business through networking and industry visibility. Conduct site inspections, generate proposals, write contracts, and ensure seamless on-property experiences for all contracted group bookings. Maximize total revenues and control expenses to meet profitability objectives, maintaining clean, friendly, and well-organized hotel standards. Coordinate with revenue and pricing teams to grow market share annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree Preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Progressive experience in the hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or service industry, including Rooms and Food & Beverage departments preferred
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Possess highly developed verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to influence others, negotiate, provide friendly service and possess professional selling skills
- Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Must have attention to detail, meet deadlines and demonstrate strong organization and presentation skills
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily
- Must be able to stand or remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time)
- Must be able to type on and operate computers and other office machinery or devices, do 10-key operation and data entry, dial a telephone, manually manipulate objects, handles, tools, and/or controls
- Must be able to inspect and visually observe details at close range (within a few feet) and from long range
- Must be able to frequently walk around the property to give tours of the building
- Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate with others effectively using the English language
- Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals
- Must be able to write routine reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries, and reports in English using prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style
- Must be able to speak effectively in English before groups such as customers or employees
- Must be able to read and interpret business records and statistical reports in English
- Must be able to perform any other job-related duties requested by any person authorized to give instructions or assignments
