Job Summary
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies for a major geographic or continental area, including planning forecasts, setting short and long-term goals, and establishing quotas aligned with corporate objectives. Direct all sales activities, manage the sales force through staffing and training, and oversee other sales managers while potentially handling pre-sales functions and strategic account sales. Balance urgency to achieve short-term targets with longer-term strategies, ensuring organizational structures and processes support strategic objectives. Participate in senior management to establish superior organizational plans and demonstrate mastery in the technologies and business functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree
- Significant experience necessary to possess an in-depth understanding of the technologies, functions, business, industry, and the Company
- Demonstrated management capabilities to include strategic level responsibilities including profit center input and management
- Demonstrated mastery level technical and managerial expertise in the function and/or business being managed
- Seasoned judgment in accounting for all relevant issues in making decisions that may have a broad organizational impact
- Ability to resolve unique and uncharted problems to enhance business results
- Ability to balance urgency to achieve short-term goals with longer term strategies
- Ability to participate with other senior managers in establishing the superior organization's strategic plans and objectives
- Ability to develop the organizational annual goals consistent with the short and long term goals of the superior organization
- Ability to ensure that structures, processes, and systems align to support strategic objectives
- Ability to recognize strengths and weaknesses and ensure business plan provides for future competency needs
- Ability to direct the organization in all aspects to achieve the short and long term goals and objectives of the organization
