Job Summary
Ragan Communications is seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support the growth of our membership community. As an SDR, you will identify and engage prospective members, generate qualified opportunities, and secure calls for the sales team to grow new business. Responsibilities include outbound prospecting (email, phone, LinkedIn), qualifying inbound leads, researching target accounts, building and managing a pipeline of qualified prospects, maintaining CRM records, collaborating with marketing and sales leadership, and meeting monthly targets for meetings booked and pipeline generated. The role emphasizes developing relationships with communications professionals, understanding the value of memberships, events, and resources, and contributing to revenue growth. 2–5 years of relevant experience, strong communication, organizational skills, comfort with high-volume outreach, CRM familiarity, and an interest in media/communications are highlighted as desirable qualifications. Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in a sales, business development, or customer-facing role (B2B preferred)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
- Comfortable with cold outreach and high-volume activity
- Ability to quickly learn and articulate value propositions
- Familiarity with news and information retrieval for research
- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot or similar) is a plus
- Interest in media, communications, or professional development industries is a plus
