Job Summary
Assist customers with agricultural and household needs by providing expert advice on farm equipment, power tools, and home essentials. Engage shoppers to understand their requirements, conduct product demonstrations, and utilize upselling techniques to maximize sales. Manage the retail financing process, process special orders, and operate the POS register while maintaining inventory through receiving and display duties. Follow merchandising guidelines to ensure product availability and resolve return issues promptly. Actively listen to customer concerns, collect contact information for follow-ups, and collaborate with team members to achieve store targets. Work outdoors in various weather conditions and participate in cross-training and learning initiatives to stay current on policies and product knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in a sales or customer service role
- Deep knowledge and passion for agriculture, farm equipment, tools, and home essentials
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Results-driven mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Basic computer skills for point-of-sale transactions and inventory management systems
- Resilience and a willingness to deal with rejection
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Initiative to devise sales strategies and work under pressure
- Demonstrated behaviors reflecting integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with others
- Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack
- Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
