Job Summary
Sales Associate responsible for out-of-house event sales at Bridgewater Banquet & Conference Center. Key duties include prospecting new opportunities via outside sales calls, phone and email marketing; conducting site visits to prospective clients; qualifying leads; negotiating food/beverage/function space minimums; developing and sending proposals and contracts; following up on proposals to close business; producing daily/weekly/monthly sales reports; attending operations meetings; providing banquet event orders to coordinate with departments; and participating in industry networking and vendor relations. Requires knowledge of event sales, venue management, catering services, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Caterease/CRM; strong communication, negotiation, time management, organization, and customer service skills; 2+ years in event sales or 3+ years event coordinating; professional appearance and self-motivation.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of event sales, or 3+ years of event coordinating
- Proven experience in sales or business development
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain client relationship
- Knowledge of venue management, as well as catering food and beverage services
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated and prompt follow up skills
- Professional appearance
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong communication skills with both customer base and staff
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of Caterease and CRM software is a plus
