Job Summary
The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Sussex, NB is hiring a part-time Sales Associate responsible for customer service, donor interaction, price/product knowledge, and efficient transaction processing. Role includes greeting customers, processing donations, loading/unloading materials, pricing, stocking, maintaining store appearance, following cash handling procedures, and supporting store operations to meet sales targets. Requires basic high school coursework, criminal background check, cash handling experience, experience with cash registers, physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and adherence to OH&S policies. Compensation range provided is CAD 15.90–18.80 per hour (maximum 21.69) with placement based on market conditions and experience; this is a casual, part-time position at The Salvation Army Thrift Store, Sussex, NB.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of some high school course work
- Criminal Background Check satisfactory to The Salvation Army
- Few months of experience in processing or distribution of goods or customer service
- Cash handling experience
- Experience with cash registers and related processes (bank deposits, summary reports)
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- Physically capable of lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs frequently
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
- Compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations
