Job Summary
Represent Sur La Table's brand by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty. Actively engage customers to identify needs, recommend relevant products, and consistently meet monthly sales goals. Process transactions, manage opening/closing procedures, and maintain visual merchandising standards while handling inventory tasks like receiving and return authorizations. Collaborate with team members to support onboarding and uphold store culture. Available to work between 12 and 16 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with regular attendance required.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older at the time of employment
- Ability to communicate verbally
- Ability to work cooperatively with associates and customers
- Ability to remain standing for up to 4 hours at a time
- Ability to move about the store coaching and directing associates
- Ability to sell to customers
- Ability to retrieve merchandise from stockroom or sales floor
- Ability to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Ability to lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders
- Ability to operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners and mouse
- Available to work between 12 and 16 hours per week, with a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Regular and predictable attendance
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of retail sales experience preferred
- Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems preferred
