Job Summary
Part-time Sales Associate at Rockler focusing on customer service, explanation, demonstration, and sale of woodworking supplies; maintain store presentation and assist with merchandising, refunds processing, and directing customers to sources for items not in stock. Emphasizes greeting customers, asking questions to understand needs, showcasing related products for total solutions, teamwork, and reliable attendance. Requires knowledge of woodworking/hand tools and a strong service orientation; prior retail sales experience is desirable. Physical duty includes standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of high school graduate or GED
- Knowledge of woodworking and hand tools required
- Previous retail sales experience desirable
- Ability to understand the nature of customers’ requests and how best to respond to their needs
- Ability to understand situations where a return or refund of merchandise can be authorized
- Extremely strong service orientation to maximize customer satisfaction
- Ability to be a team player, outgoing, approachable, and congenial when dealing with both customers and other associates
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs, and participate in team lifting
