Job Summary
Part-time Sales Associate at Rockler in Fairfax, VA, focusing on helping woodworking enthusiasts with product demonstrations, inquiries, and sales of woodworking supplies and tools. Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering product questions, ringing sales on the POS, promoting the Total solution by suggesting related items, maintaining attractive displays, handling refunds per procedures, routing customers to additional sources when items are unavailable, and performing other duties (including potential unloading, pricing, and merchandising) as assigned. Attendance is essential. Must have high school diploma or GED, knowledge of woodworking/hand tools, strong service orientation, ability to work as part of a team, strong interpersonal skills, and stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of high school graduate or GED.
- Knowledge of woodworking and hand tools required.
- Previous retail sales experience desirable
- Ability to understand the nature of customers’ requests and how best to respond to their needs.
- Ability to understand situations where a return or refund of merchandise can be authorized.
- Requires an extremely strong service orientation to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Ability to be a team player, outgoing, approachable, and congenial when dealing with both customers and other associates.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, personally lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and participate in team lifting.
