Job Summary
Greet customers, ring up merchandise accurately, and bag items while maintaining a neat checkout area and clear displays. Assist with merchandising tasks like creating end caps, put away merchandise on the sales floor, and follow proper procedures for returns, gift cards, and discounts. Handle cash transactions, perform drawer reconciliations, and report pricing concerns or safety hazards to management. Maintain a safe, clean workstation and follow loss prevention procedures by reporting potential theft or abuse of discounts. This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in a fast-paced retail environment with occasional warehouse tasks. Hours vary and may include evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide high levels of customer service
- Ability to handle cash accurately
- Ability to count, add, and subtract
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to follow all safety rules
- Must be able to operate a pricing gun and cash register
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
- Use of both hands
- Good manual and finger dexterity
- Ability to visually inspect and eliminate non-saleable donations
- Hours vary and can include evening and/or weekend hours
