Job Summary
Greet customers, ring up sales transactions, and bag merchandise while maintaining a neat checkout area and clean sales floor. Assist with merchandising by creating displays and end caps, and ensure proper procedures for returns, gift cards, and pricing concerns. Handle cash drops, change requests, and drawer reconciliations while reporting safety hazards and potential losses to management. Maintain workstation supplies and complete daily 5-minute cleanups, following loss prevention protocols for theft and discount abuse. Stand and walk for extended periods, lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally, in a fast-paced retail environment with varying temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide high levels of customer service
- Ability to handle cash accurately
- Ability to count, add, and subtract
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to follow all safety rules
- Must be able to operate a pricing gun and cash register
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
- Use of both hands
- Good manual and finger dexterity
- Ability to visually inspect and eliminate non-saleable donations
- Hours vary and can include evening and/or weekend hours
