Job Summary
Greet customers upon arrival, assist with sales by accurately ringing up merchandise on the cash register, and process transactions for cash and credit cards. Communicate customer concerns and compliments to management while maintaining a neat, clutter-free checkout area. Manage cash handling processes including drops, change requests, and drawer reconciliations, and follow proper procedures for returns, gift cards, and discounts. Create displays and end caps as directed, report safety hazards, and utilize pricing guns to identify pricing concerns. Perform daily 5-minute station cleanups and maintain a safe, orderly work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide high levels of customer service
- Ability to handle cash accurately
- Ability to count, add, and subtract
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to follow all safety rules
- Must be able to operate a pricing gun and cash register
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
- Use of both hands
- Good manual and finger dexterity
- Ability to visually inspect and eliminate non-saleable donations
- Hours vary and can include evening and/or weekend hours
