Job Summary
As a Sales Associate at Petco, you’ll help pet parents find the right products and solutions for their pets while creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment. You’ll greet customers, deliver friendly and solution-focused service, educate customers on products, process sales, returns, and exchanges, stock shelves, maintain store cleanliness and organization, support inventory and merchandising, and collaborate with teammates to meet store goals. The role requires strong communication, reliability, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail setting, comfort with cash handling, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. You’ll work in a Pet Care Center retail environment and may be in contact with animals, requiring adherence to safety standards and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort handling cash and transactions
- Basic math skills
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work around animals and in a pet-centered environment
