Job Summary
As a Sales Associate at Petco, you’ll help pet parents find products and solutions, greet customers, process sales, returns, and exchanges, stock and maintain a clean, engaging sales floor, and support store operations with teamwork. You’ll educate customers on products and promotions, assist with inventory replenishment, and deliver friendly, solution-focused service in a fast-paced Pet Care Center environment. The role requires frequent standing and walking, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior retail experience is not required, but a passion for animals and strong communication skills are important.
Required Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required
- Passion for animals and interest in pet care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and transactions
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Essential Functions & Work Environment: ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, and work around animals
