Job Summary
Greet customers and donors to provide prompt, courteous assistance while maintaining safety standards and reporting hazards. Stock priced items, sort donations, and inspect products for defects in accordance with Salvation Army Standards. Perform cleaning duties including windows, dusting, cashwrap areas, fitting rooms, bathrooms, stockroom, and breakroom. Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory; maintain and clean the donation trailer/pod area. Operate POS/cash registers, assist donors with item removal, and separate materials into proper containers. Work flexible schedules covering evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure adequate store coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Ability to operate POS/Cash Register
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts
- Ability to operate a telephone
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
- Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
- Ability to follow all POS/Cash Register Policies in accordance with TSA Policies and Procedures
- Ability to maintain safety standards and report any hazards/problems to the managers
- Ability to follow all HR policies and procedures
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays
