Job Summary
Conduct customer interactions via phone and in-person to offer expert advice on coatings projects and process transactions through point-of-sale systems. Maintain sales floor stock levels by organizing merchandise according to planograms, cleaning store areas and equipment, and ensuring proper inventory. Uphold Dunn-Edwards brand standards by acting professionally and adhering to safety protocols while continuously learning industry products through the Dunn-Edwards Learning Network. Work full-time shifts starting as early as 5:00 am and ending as late as 6:30 pm, with some locations open seven days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Four years of High School with diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Read and write English for safety purposes
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to Operate a Point of Sales system and complete cash transactions with financial accuracy
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal
- The ability to stock and merchandise products according to planogram
- Lifting of items, such as sundries or containers of paint weighting from 5 to 75 pounds
- Use of electronic equipment including, but not limited to computers, point of sale devices, communication devices
- Driving a large delivery truck/vehicle
- Climbing ladders
- Walking on uneven surfaces, e.g., active construction sites
- Interactions with customers, both face-to-face and on the telephone
- Interaction with customers relating to color
- Standing for long periods of time
- Use of a respirator
- Opening shifts may start as early as 5:00 am
- Closing shifts may end as late as 6:30 pm
- Workdays vary depending on location; some are open 7 days per week
