Job Summary
Act as the point of contact for customers and support store operations: unload trucks, receive and stock merchandise, build and rotate displays, restock recovered items, assist customers in locating merchandise, maintain cleanliness (front end, stockroom, restrooms), operate the cash register and bag purchases, and assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners. Maintain plan-o-gram accuracy and merchandise presentation, greet customers, and contribute to profitability and customer satisfaction through teamwork in a fast-paced Dollar General environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic mathematical skills
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures
- Ability to operate IBM cash register functions
- Reading and following plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of safety policies and practices
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
- Frequent walking and standing
- Ability to push/pull rolltainers and operate handheld scanners
