Job Summary
Act as the point of contact for customers and assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs. Stock merchandise, build merchandise displays, rotate and face shelves, unload trucks, and assist customers in locating items. Operate cash register and bag merchandise, collect payment and make change. Help with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners and maintain front-end cleanliness. Perform stocking, unloading, and light lifting (up to 55 pounds) in a fast-paced retail environment; follow safety policies and procedures and comply with company policies. Relocation not offered for this position. Relates to Dollar General store operations and customer service responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions
