Job Summary
The Sales Associate is the primary point of contact for customers, assisting with locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking and displaying items, cleaning the store, and performing duties as assigned to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets. Responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, greeting and assisting customers, handling cash transactions, following merchandise processes, unpacking, stocking, rotating stock, building displays, cleaning the store, and maintaining store standards. Knowledge/skills include effective interpersonal and oral communication, basic cash handling, understanding planograms and merchandising presentation guides, and ability to lift up to 55 pounds. Education preferred is a high school diploma or equivalent; role involves frequent walking/standing and exposure to outside weather. Dollar General is an equal opportunity employer.
