Job Summary
Act as the point of contact for customers, stock merchandise, and operate the cash register in Dollar General locations. Responsibilities include unloading trucks, building and rotating merchandise displays, stocking and facing shelves, assisting customers in locating items, and maintaining store cleanliness. Requires effective interpersonal skills, basic cash handling and math, ability to follow plan-o-gram guidance, and physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds (occasional 55 pounds). High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Relocation assistance is not available. Fast-paced retail environment with opportunity to contribute to customer satisfaction and store profitability.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions
- Frequent walking and standing
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling
- Frequent lifting up to 40 pounds; occasional up to 55 pounds
- Occasional climbing up to six feet
