Job Summary
Greet and assist customers, donors, and others with merchandise selection, suggestion selling, and cashiering in a courteous and professional manner. Handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while closing out the cash drawer and balancing all point of sale (POS) transactions. Proactively acknowledge shoppers, answer questions, direct them to supervisors as needed, and maintain a clean work environment through restocking and floor maintenance. Perform general duties including communicating via standard telephone and wireless audio systems, supporting team members, and reporting potential hazards or accidents. This hourly role offers a pay rate of $17.13–$19.00 with benefits including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalency
- Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers)
- Standing for long periods
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing
- Climbing ladders
- Able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain)
- Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills
- Maintain reliable attendance
- Organizing, sorting, categorizing, counting, adding, subtracting
