Job Summary
The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering prompt and courteous service to customers, adhering to company policies, and assisting the Store Manager with daily operations. Key responsibilities include managing sales and cash transactions, performing bookkeeping tasks such as preparing shift-change reports, maintaining store cleanliness, stocking merchandise, and ensuring compliance with local regulations regarding alcohol and tobacco sales. Important skills required include the ability to communicate effectively, perform basic arithmetic, and execute physical tasks such as stocking shelves and operating cash registers. Required Qualifications
- Ability to converse and understand the English language at the eighth-grade level
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations at the eighth-grade level
- Ability to move up to 55 pounds
- Ability to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products
- Ability to operate store equipment including cash registers and computers
- Ability to work as a team member
