Job Summary
Sales Associate at MFA Petroleum’s Break Time convenience stores. Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing transactions quickly and accurately, merchandising and pricing, implementing promotions, stocking and facing merchandise, operating the store’s POS technology, handling cash and vendor check-ins, training new employees, and performing loss-control duties related to cash handling, lottery sales, food waste, and merchandise. Must work in a fast-paced environment, maintain store cleanliness, comply with policies, and communicate professionally with customers, vendors, coworkers, and management. Qualifications include 18+ years old, friendly customer-service orientation, flexible weekend/holiday availability, legal work status in the United States, ability to perform math to make change, learn new concepts and operate computers, food-safety training and a Food Handler’s Card, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long shifts, and pass a background check and drug test.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change and count product
- Ability to learn to use technology and office productivity machinery
- Ability and willingness to attend adequate food safety training and obtain a Food Handler’s Card or equivalent certifications
- Ability to stand for up to nine hours per shift
- Ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation
- Pre-employment background check and drug test
