Job Summary
Sales Assistant to support Northeast sales team for a well-established Hudson Valley fresh produce grower/packer/shipper. Responsibilities include processing and managing customer orders from receipt to shipment using the company database, monitoring inventory, tracking orders through delivery, ensuring special customer requirements are accurate, coordinating with sales to resolve shipment issues, and applying quick problem-solving in produce sales. Role involves 2-3 days onsite per week with onboarding, potential sales commission, professional customer service in a fast-paced environment, and collaboration with ownership. Strong Excel/MS Office skills and prior fresh produce experience are required.
Required Qualifications
- Successful experience in an administrative or sales support role with a focus on customer service and data entry
- Previous fresh produce experience is required
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel and the MS Office suite
- Experience with Famous, iTrade, SPS and/or Foodlink preferred
- Organized, with strong attention to detail and self-motivation
- College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study preferred, HS diploma or GED required
