Sales Area Manager

Job Summary

Oversee and grow a Charlotte, NC territory by developing relationships with franchisees, restaurant operators, and store personnel. Increase same-store food sales and profitability through sales presentations, product demonstrations, and business reviews with current and prospective customers. Analyze sales performance, customer data, and market trends to develop strategies that achieve growth and profitability objectives. Proactively identify at-risk accounts and implement strategies to prevent attrition and store closures. Train staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and food safety standards while ensuring adherence to operating standards and contractual requirements. Monitor territory performance, provide accurate reporting to leadership, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues. Introduce new products, programs, and marketing initiatives to drive account performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience preferred
  • 3–5 years of food industry, operations, sales, or related field experience strongly preferred
  • Food distribution sales experience and/or restaurant or hospitality leadership experience preferred
  • Franchise operations experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand business documents, product information, operating instructions, and product labels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with CRM systems, databases, sales reporting platforms, or similar business technology
  • Familiarity with web-based presentation and collaboration tools preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret sales data and identify business opportunities
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and analyze financial and sales information
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team
