Sales Account Manager

Job Summary
Manage assigned accounts as the primary contact, conducting account planning, forecasting, and growth strategy development with documented action plans. Monitor key scorecards, lead KPI reviews with customers, and perform post-order follow-ups for large or high-touch orders. Execute outbound and inbound communications to identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities, while prospecting new accounts and branches to build a robust pipeline. Conduct in-person visits to local customer sites to present sales opportunities and negotiate deals focused on maximizing revenue and margin. Submit quotes and book orders within the CRM system, collaborating with Purchasing, Quality, and Distribution teams to ensure accurate delivery and timely resolution of fulfillment issues. Drive communication and data infrastructure improvements by partnering with internal resources to enhance cross-references and system enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate sales data, identify trends, and develop actionable business insights
- Ability to prepare and present reports related to sales performance, customer activity, forecasts, and market conditions
- Demonstrated ability to make business decisions independently and manage priorities effectively
- Solid understanding of pricing, margins, profitability, and basic financial concepts
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while adapting to changing business needs and priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and support
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working within the fastener manufacturing, industrial distribution, or related supply chain industry
- Understanding of value-added and secondary service operations in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP/CRM systems
- Strong knowledge of fasteners, fastening systems, and related industry applications
- Previous experience in account management, customer service, inside sales, or outside sales roles
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities for account growth
