Job Summary

HVAC controls-focused Sales Account Executive in the MD/DC area (Baltimore/Gambrills, MD) with a hybrid work arrangement. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with owner/end users, general contractors, design/build contractors, mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and ESCOs; expanding relationships with consulting engineers; setting meetings, identifying opportunities, and presenting Albireo Energy’s capabilities; preparing technical scope of work proposals; applying estimating processes for material, labor, and subcontractor costs; negotiating final pricing and scope with contractors and end users; coordinating with Operations to review estimates and turnover projects; providing sales support for new installations; ensuring high customer satisfaction; attending sales meetings and training; exceeding revenue and gross margin targets; tracking sales activities in CRM. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field and at least 4 years of sales experience in building automation (with at least 2 years of field experience and 4 years of sales experience), ability to read MEP plans, understanding of building HVAC systems, and a base salary range of $100k-$120k with uncapped commissions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • minimum 4 years of sales experience in the building automation field or completion of an accredited HVAC technical apprenticeship program
  • minimum 2 years of field experience and 4 years of sales experience in building automation
  • ability to read and understand MEP plans and specifications relating to mechanical control systems
  • understanding of building HVAC systems and the application of controls
  • experience in estimating material, labor and subcontractor costs and guiding an estimating team
  • proficiency in negotiating pricing and scope of work with contractors and end users
  • ability to work with Operations to review estimates and turnover projects
  • authorization to work in the United States
