Salaried Payroll Specialist

Job Summary
Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and timely for salaried employees, serving as backup for biweekly cycles and supporting quarterly bonus processing. Perform payroll auditing and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance while maintaining employee records and deductions within UKG. Assist with year-end activities, terminations, tax filing, and retirement plan administration including 401(k) reconciliation and loan inquiries. Resolve employee benefit-related issues and update profiles in HRIS systems to ensure data accuracy. Ensure compliance with payroll laws and internal policies while supporting audit requests.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of payroll administration experience with multi-state payroll processing, payroll auditing, HRIS/payroll systems administration, retirement plan support, and employee payroll support
- Experience processing semi-monthly payroll and working within UKG or similar HRIS/payroll systems
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, payroll taxes, wage and hour compliance, and audit readiness
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage payroll deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to professionally support employees and leaders
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion
- Strong proficiency in payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and HRIS platforms
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in an employee-owned (ESOP) organization
- CPP certification or payroll-related certifications
- Experience supporting retirement plan audits and reconciliation activities
- Background supporting benefits administration and open enrollment activities
- Track record of identifying process improvements and increasing payroll efficiency
