Job Summary
SailPoint IAM Engineer design, implement, and maintain SailPoint and related identity security solutions to protect enterprise systems, applications, and data; lead and execute all phases of the security engineering lifecycle (threat modeling, secure design, testing including SAST/DAST/SCA, and vulnerability remediation); configure, integrate, and support identity and cybersecurity technologies with installation, automation, change management, and operational handoff; develop and maintain security baselines, guardrails, and governance controls to ensure regulatory and organizational policy compliance; perform security assessments, penetration testing, and structured analysis to identify and remediate vulnerabilities; analyze existing systems and emerging technologies to recommend enhancements for performance, scalability, and security posture; collaborate with engineering, product, and architecture teams to embed secure-by-design principles into development and identity lifecycle processes; act as a technical escalation point for complex security and identity issues, conducting root cause analysis and durable solutions; support cybersecurity initiatives including incident response and basic forensics; contribute to capacity planning, baselining, and trend analysis for future growth; lead or contribute to cybersecurity projects and workstreams with a focus on quality delivery and resource efficiency; provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers and cross-functional teams; onsite work requirement five days per week with Raleigh, NC as the preferred location and Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA also considered.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles
- Advanced knowledge in cybersecurity principles, theories, and concepts
- Proven experience in software development lifecycle security practices
- Advanced knowledge of threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing
- Experience implementing and managing complex information security technologies
- Preferred qualifications include Master’s degree or MBA, banking industry experience, 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, CISSP/CISA certifications, and hands-on management of IGA platforms (e.g. SailPoint)
