SAHS Business Intelligence Supervisor

Job Summary
Lead and mentor a BI team within a designated Emphasis Area (Governance, Dev/Ops, or Business Analytics) to drive execution of the health system’s BI strategy. Responsible for staffing and performance management, collaboration with business owners and senior leadership, and delivering high-quality data, dashboards, and reports. Oversee governance, data quality, and data infrastructure development in partnership with EDW and cross-functional teams; develop documentation including data definitions, business rules, and technical specifications; provide training and technical guidance to end users; stay current with healthcare analytics trends and regulatory requirements; act as an internal consultant to research, analyze, and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree required; alternatively, a combination of 10 years of relevant experience and education may be considered
- Minimum of 8 years of experience analyzing large, complex datasets, preferably within healthcare
- Educational background aligned with emphasis area preferred (e.g., Computer Science, Health Informatics, Finance, Public Health)
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to translate business needs into data and analytics solutions
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in BI and analytics tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, SAS, Python, R, Business Objects)
- Knowledge of healthcare operations, data governance, ETL, database structures, and data modeling
- Experience with data governance frameworks, system testing, and analytics documentation
- Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies such as LEAN
- Knowledge of distributed computing, data auditing, and master data management
