Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities and providing caregiver relief inside private residences. Offer pet therapy visits using already licensed dogs and play the guitar for patients. Support families through bereavement volunteer calls and assist with grief groups, including remote grief support. Pre-med students may learn about gerontology patient care. Volunteers must be 18+, willing to submit TB and drug tests, and undergo fingerprinting. No healthcare experience required. AdvisaCare Hospice serves patients in Saginaw County.
