Job Summary
Conduct daily upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance of the casino and grounds under supervision. Operate vacuum sweepers, mops, extractors, buffers, and scrubbers to clean all areas, including restrooms, high-traffic gaming floors, and kitchen spaces. Manage waste disposal by emptying trash containers, transferring refuse to compactors, and handling spills and biohazards. Perform lawn care, mowing, irrigation maintenance, snow removal, and sidewalk/parking lot upkeep using appropriate equipment. Execute minor plumbing repairs, carpentry work, painting, and carpet tile replacement. Move equipment, furniture, and supplies as needed while adhering to Saganing Hospitality Rules. Maintain strict confidentiality and present a professional demeanor to guests and staff.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- One year custodial and maintenance experience
- Experience with minor plumbing and carpentry
- Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position
- Must have a valid State of Michigan Drivers License
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices
- Knowledge of housekeeping cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of basic maintenance of buildings
- Skill in the use of cleaning tools, chemicals, cleaners, and disinfectants
- Ability to comprehend and consistently follow oral and written directions regarding policies, procedures and the use of supplies and equipment
- Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of weather conditions including extreme hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of tools, equipment and materials
- May be required to work other shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and during emergency situations
- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required
