Job Summary
Welcome and seat guests in a timely, professional, and courteous manner while using the MICROS system to register and close all sales. Reconcile financial transactions and liabilities, verify POS totals against cash on hand, and cash out server tickets. Maintain seating charts and wait lists, schedule dining reservations, and answer phones to provide information. Keep stations stocked, clean, and sanitary by removing trash and organizing work areas. Assist with order preparation, check identification for credit card payments, and practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with all guests. Provide excellent customer service, resolve concerns, and maintain a positive professional demeanor in a high-volume, stressful environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to operate a POS
- Must have basic math skills and pass a written math / MICROS test with 80% accuracy or better
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and arithmetic
- Knowledge of cash handling, banking, or accounting
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles
- Knowledge of cash handling
- Knowledge of guest service techniques
- Ability to create a friendly atmosphere and demonstrate excellent guest service
- Ability to operate a POS
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels
- Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to work with the public in a courteous and professional manner
- Normal hearing, visual sharpness, and verbal communication skills
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Frequent walking and use of hands, wrists, and fingers associated with serving water, menus, running a POS and routine cash handling, and other items
- Required to stand for extended periods of time
- Stoop, bend, kneel or crouch
- Extended hours and irregular shifts are required
