Job Summary

Greet guests, take food and beverage orders, and verify age requirements for alcohol purchases. Operate the Micros POS system, make change, and issue receipts while adhering to all department policies. Set up tables, trays, and carts, then complete restocking, cleaning, and side work including polishing glassware. Maintain cleanliness standards in the restaurant, wait station, and kitchen service area, ensuring compliance with health board requirements. Promote casino amenities and provide excellent customer service by resolving concerns and maintaining a positive demeanor. Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) Certification as part of SELCs commitment to responsible alcohol service throughout employment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
  • Ability to deal with the public under stressful situations
  • Required to stand for extended periods of time
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and walking
  • Normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of conditions including hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of equipment and materials
  • Frequent walking in slippery and wet areas
  • Exposure to various chemicals
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts are required

Desired Qualifications

  • Restaurant server experience
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles
  • Knowledge of basic math and arithmetic
  • Knowledge of all menu items including entrees, side dishes, beverages, non-alcoholic, alcoholic, wine and deserts
  • Skill in utilizing computer equipment and POS systems
  • Skills in basic math operations
  • Ability to create a friendly atmosphere and demonstrate excellent customer/guest service
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form
